Maria Luisa Buchaillot is currently a Ph.D. student in Remote Sensing for International Agricultural Development at the Integrative Crop Ecophysiology Group of the University of Barcelona. She began working for this group during her Master´s degree in Environmental Agrobiology at the University of Barcelona, Faculty of Biology in 2017 on the use of UAV image analyses for improving yields in low N conditions in African maize breeding programs. She has since been actively engaged in the analysis of field, UAV and satellite imagery and analyses in combination with a wide range of scientific field sensors for several applications in agriculture including phenotyping and precision agriculture. She was continuing her research as a technician for a year in our lab providing support to various projects with satellite image analyses and now she is starting her Ph.D. focusing on Remote Sensing and GIS applications for the improvement of different international crops.
